Jacques Cholat, born in 1959, holds with a Doctorate in Medicine from the University of Grenoble (1986). In 1987, Jacques began working in the pharmaceutical industry and, more specifically, the Marketing Department of Laboratoires Cassenne, a subsidiary of the Roussel Uclaf Group. In 1988, he became the Medical Operations Manager for the Asia-Pacific zone within Pasteur Mérieux Sérums & Vaccins in Lyon. This marked the beginning of a career entirely dedicated to pursuing a mission to improve public health on every continent. In 1995, his career took him to Rhône-Poulenc Rorer in Paris, where he held the position of Marketing Director for the South America, Africa, Middle-East and Asia zones. He subsequently left France to head the Group’s Portuguese subsidiary from 1996 to 1999; during this time, he was based in Lisbon. From 1999 to 2002, Jacques Cholat travelled to Singapore in his capacity as Vice President for International Sales Operations within the Aventis Pharma Group in charge of Asia, Australia and New Zealand.
